David Lockwood

David Lockwood is a history lecturer at Flinders University, where he is given the opportunity to exercise his dramatic talents on a daily basis. He has performed for The Stirling Players in How the Other Half Loves, Outside Edge and Wait until Dark. For St Jude’s Players he was Dr Willis in The Madness of George III and in 2006 he played Thomas Cromwell in A Man for All Seasons. In 2011 he played the Reverend Harry Harrison in the St Jude’s production of Shadowlands. And, still at St Jude’s, he was Doctor Watson in the 2012 production of The Final Toast. He has also performed for Unmasked Theatre, Adelaide Rep, Blackwood Players and the Therry Dramatic Society. He lives with his wife Sue and his son Karl (and the dog). David enjoys playing the part of the Doctor because, he says, ‘the Doctor represents the beginnings of the elemental force of the Soviet bureaucracy’ – and because it allows him to rest for the entire second act!
