Steve Marvenek

Steve Marvanek

Steve made his acting debut in 2008 with The Stirling Players ATG award winning comedy It's My Party (And I’ll Die if I Want To), after a colleague dragged him kicking and screaming to his first audition. Despite the terror of this baptism of fire, the bug had bit. Since then he has performed regularly with The Stirling Players and The University of Adelaide Theatre Guild with the odd stint with Therry, Tea Tree Players and the Adelaide Repertory Theatre Society. In addition to his debut performance, Steve’s personal highlights include playing Bryan in Female of the Species for Stirling in 2010 and Marco in the Guild’s A View from the Bridge (2011), both of which won ATG Best Show Curtain Call Awards n their respective categories. Other favourite roles include Don in the Reps Don’s Party (2012), Clarence in Richard III , Wakefield in Holy Day (both 2013) and, most recently, Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, all with the Theatre Guild. Steve’s last performance with The Stirling Players was as Karl in their 2012 production of Mr Bailey’s Minder, and he is very happy to be treading the boards again at the theatre where it all began.
